Cinnamon Raisin French Toast
When French toast meets raisin bread, it’s a match made in heaven! This delightful dish comes together in under 30 minutes, perfect for a cozy breakfast by yourself, a romantic brunch at home, or a gathering with family and friends. Ingredients
For the French Toast
- 8 pieces8 pieces8 pieces Canyon Bakehouse Cinnamon Raisin Bread
- 2 whole2 whole2 whole Eggs
- 1.5 tsp1.5 tsp1.5 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 2 tsp2 tsp2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 cup1/2 cup1/2 cup Milk
- 1 pinch1 pinch1 pinch Salt
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Salted Butter
For the Drizzle
- 1/4 cup1/4 cup1/4 cup Full Fat Cream Cheese, about 2 oz, softened (not melted)
- 1.5 Tbsp1.5 Tbsp1.5 Tbsp Milk
- 5 Tbsp5 Tbsp5 Tbsp Powdered Sugar, or more if you want it sweeter!
Optional Toppings
- Candied Pecan Halves, optional, for topping
- Powdered Sugar, optional, for topping

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- In a flat dish, thoroughly combine the eggs, cinnamon, vanilla, 1/2 cup of milk, and salt. Make sure the eggs are well scrambled and mixed evenly with the other ingredients.
- Dredge each piece of bread in the liquid mixture, coating both sides, letting any excess drip off.
- In a pan, heat 1 tsp butter on medium to medium-low heat. Add the bread and cook until the first side is golden. Flip and continue cooking until golden on the second side. Total cook time is around 5-6 minutes.
- Continue steps 2 & 3 until all pieces of bread are coated and cooked.
- For the drizzle, whisk together the softened (but not melted) cream cheese, milk, and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. It might appear lumpy at first, but continue whisking for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth. If desired, add more sugar to make it sweeter. Drizzle over the french toast.
- Optional: top with candied pecans and dust with powdered sugar. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
When making the cream cheese drizzle, ensure the cream cheese is softened but not melted. For a sweeter drizzle, gradually add more powdered sugar. If the mixture is too thick, add a few more drops of milk. Any lumps will smooth out after sufficient whisking. And if you’re allergic to nuts or simply don't care for them, feel free to omit them altogether!
