Gluten-Free Apple Tart
This apple tart uses gluten-free puff pastry but would also work well with regular puff pastry. Thinly sliced apples with cinnamon sugar for a touch of sweetness. It's easy to make and delicious as is or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients
- 111 Gluten Free Puff Pastry, can use regular if desired
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Cane Sugar, divided
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Ground Cinnamon, divided

- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Organic Apricot Preserves
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Milk, Can use non-dairy

Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Pre-heat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry and place it onto the parchment paper. Lightly score 1/4 inch order all the way around the puff pastry ensuring that you don't go all the way through.
- Sprinkle the puff pastry with 1 tbsp of sugar and 1/2 tsp of cinnamon.
- Thinly slice the apples (1/4 inch), then layer them onto the inside of the scored puff pastry. You may not use all the apples depending on their size.
- Sprinkle the top of the apples with the remaining 1 tbsp of sugar and 1/4 tsp of cinnamon.
- Gently brush the outer edge with milk.
- Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until the edges are lightly brown.
- Once removed from the oven, gently warm the apricot preserve to make it easily spreadable then brush the tart with the preserves.
Notes
Since the puff pastry is gluten-free it will not get really brown. If you want you can LOWER your oven rack and place it under a broiler or low for a min or so. Be careful and keep your eye on it as the parchment paper can burn. Best served the day of baking however it will keep for an additional day. Store lightly covered at room temperature. Can yield 4-8 servings depending on how big you slice your pieces. I used Sweet Lorens puff pastry.
