We’ve been on a Caesar salad kick lately and having homemade croutons on hand quite literally makes the salad. The texture and flavor they provide is remarkable and since they’re really so easy to make you will find yourself making them all the time! This method works on my GLUTEN FREE SANDWICH BREAD or your favorite sourdough baguette or loaf. I like a ¾ - 1” crouton, but can be cut smaller. You can also switch up the seasoning to your preference, just plan on about 3½ tsp in total.

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°.
  2. Add bread cubes to a large mixing bowl, preferably one that will accommodate tossing the bread cubes about without having any leave the bowl.
  3. Drizzle avocado oil over the top, then sprinkle the salt along with the spices over the bread cubes. Using a rubber spatula, toss cubes to distribute the oil/spices.
  4. Spread bread cubes evenly onto the baking sheet, giving it a good shimmy to disperse, so as many cubes can touch the surface of the baking sheet as possible.
  5. Place in the oven and bake till golden, optimally tossing bread cubes half way through for even browning. Typically around 15-20 minutes usually does the trick, but can vary depending on the size you cut so keep an eye on them!.
  6. Remove from the oven and cool, use in as many ways possible. Store in an airtight container for up to 10 days.
