Homemade Juice (Kompot) (Edit recipe)

If you want to increase your energy, maintain glowy skin, and sip on a refreshing and healthy drink this summer, this juice is for you. It's super simple to make with just 2-3 ingredients. It's a lower and natural sugar option to conventional store bought juice that you can feel good about drinking yourself, and sharing with your family & kids! It comes from Eastern European cultures, and it seems there are millions of ways to make it! Here is the one I like best so far.

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. 1. Bring 1 gallon of water to a boil.
  2. 2. When the water starts to boil, carefully add your frozen fruit (you can also use fresh but I have only used frozen and it works really well). Bring water back to a boil.
  3. 3. Lower heat to medium and allow a rolling boil for 30 minutes, uncovered.
  4. 4. Remove from heat.
  5. 5. Add 2tbp honey and mix in.
  6. 6. Let cool completely.
  7. 7. Strain your juice - either use a slotted spoon or a strainer. DO NOT forget the bowl underneath!
  8. 8. Transfer to a glass jar and store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
