Honey Butter Grilled Cheese
This incredible honey butter grilled cheese sandwich combines sharp cheddar with the peppery bite of fresh arugula, a hint of horseradish heat, and the crunch of pistachios. Golden and crisp, all thanks to the delicious homemade honey butter, it's a bold twist on a classic comfort meal. The recipe can be made gluten-free and/or vegan.
Ingredients
- 0.25 cup0.25 cup0.25 cup Butter, Salted, can sub plant based
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Honey
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Thyme
- 0.5 tsp0.5 tsp0.5 tsp Garlic Powder
- 0.5 tsp0.5 tsp0.5 tsp Onion Powder
- 0.125 tsp0.125 tsp0.125 tsp Salt, to taste
- 4 pieces4 pieces4 pieces French Bread, thickly sliced, can sub gluten-free
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Horseradish, to taste
- 4 pieces4 pieces4 pieces Cheddar Cheese, can sub plant-based
- 1 cup1 cup1 cup Arugula, chopped
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Pistachios, Raw, chopped
Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the butter, honey, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and mix until smooth.
- Spread the butter on both sides of the bread.
- Spread the horseradish on one side of the bread.
- Place the cheddar cheese, arugula, and chopped pistachios on the bread with horseradish. Top with the remaining piece of bread.
- In a nonstick or cast-iron skillet over medium heat, cook the sandwich for 2-3 minutes or until golden and crispy. Flip and cook for another 1-3 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted. Enjoy!
