Ham and Fig Sandwich (GF)
Never underestimate a simple sandwich. They are loaded with flavor and super comforting. This sandwich has the flavors of ham, havarti, and figs. Salty and sweet.
Ingredients
- .33 whole.33 whole.33 whole Gluten and Grain Free Baguette - Against the Grain, sliced

- 4 oz4 oz4 oz Ham
- 2 oz2 oz2 oz Havarti Cheese, Or provolone
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Fig Jam
- 8 pieces8 pieces8 pieces Baby Spinach, or arugula
- 2 tsp2 tsp2 tsp Butter, Unsalted

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Open the baguette and spread fig jam on each side.
- Layer the ham, cheese, and spinach.
- Put top piece of bread on and spread butter on one side.
- Cook in skillet on medium heat for 5 minutes.
- Turn and spread butter on top of the other side. Cook for 5 minutes.
- I pressed mine using a cast iron skillet, or you can use a panini press if you have one.
Notes
You can use any variety of fig jam. I’ve tried just fig and fig/orange and both are delicious. I’ve also used rosemary ham and that was super tasty.
