- Cook the 2 slices of bacon, drain and set aside.
- Heat 1 tbsp of butter in a medium size skillet on medium low heat.
- Once the butter is melted, sprinkle 1/4 tsp of the fresh thyme and a bit of black pepper over the melted butter, then place a slice of bread on top of the butter mixture. Swirl the bread around so it gets coated in the butter.
- Add the shredded cheddar cheese, turkey, apple slices, and bacon.
- Butter the top slice of bread with the remaining butter. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 tsp of fresh thyme and a bit of black pepper on top of the buttered bread. Top the sandwich.
- Cover the sandwich to help the cheese melt. Once the bottom is browned flip the sandwich and cover again for another 1 minute or so.
- Remove from the skillet and sprinkle with some flaky salt.
Notes
Adjust quantities if making more than one sandwich or if using a larger slice of bread. If using salted butter omit the flaky salt at the end to prevent the sandwich from becoming to salty.
