Brown Sugar Strawberry Syrup
I was inspired to make this syrup as a flavoring for refreshing beverages. It is lovely in an iced matcha latte, but you can also use this syrup on pancakes, biscuits, and even as a filling in baked goods! It is super easy to make and only requires two ingredients. I hope you love it!
Ingredients
- 0.5 cup0.5 cup0.5 cup Frozen Strawberries
- 0.25 cup0.25 cup0.25 cup Organic Light Brown Sugar - Thrive Market
Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- place frozen strawberries in a bowl
- Sprinkle the brown sugar on top of the frozen strawberries, no need to mix!
- Allow to thaw at room temperature for about an hour, or in the fridge for about 2 hours until the strawberries are thawed through and the sugar has drawn out liquid from the strawberries
- Mash with a fork or use a small knife to lightly slice the strawberries into smaller chunks. This will also further release the strawberry juices and give you a more syrupy consistency.
- Store in the fridge in a well sealed container.
