Chocolate Almond Butter Bars (paleo) (Edit recipe)

When it is hot outside and you and the family are craving a sweet treat but don’t want to turn the oven on…these are perfect. Super easy to make and they taste decadent but are a healthier version of most other bars. Get the kids involved and let them help make them.

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. In a 8x8 pan put a few drops of oil and line with parchment paper, then lightly grease the top of the parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl combine the liquid ingredients and stir well.
  3. Add in the almond butter, flours, and cinnamon, stir until everything is combined.
  4. Spread into pan.
  5. Put into refrigerator to chill.
  6. In a double boiler on low heat melt the chocolate chips, ghee, and milk, stir often and watch closely.
  7. Once chocolate is melted remove and let cool a few minutes, stir in salt.
  8. Spread the ganache onto the almond bars.
  9. Top with nuts or mini chocolate chips or chopped nuts if desired.
