Egg Roll in a Bowl
Your favorite Chinese order appetizer but faster, cheaper, and more nutritious. One skillet and 20 minutes is all you’ll need to make this super easy and super flavourful egg roll in a bowl. The best part…it’s so versatile. Switch the protein to beef, pork, or tofu, and add different seasonings and toppings for a delicious twist.
Ingredients
- 1 lb1 lb1 lb Ground Turkey, can sub ground chicken, pork, beef, or tofu
- 2 tsp2 tsp2 tsp Sesame Oil
- 1 whole1 whole1 whole Vidalia Onion, chopped
- 2 cloves2 cloves2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Ginger Root, minced
- 0.25 cup0.25 cup0.25 cup Soy Sauce, can sub coconut aminos or tamari
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Rice Vinegar, can sub regular white vinegar
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Honey, can sub maple syrup
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Sriracha
- 16 oz16 oz16 oz Coleslaw Mix (Shredded Cabbage and Carrots)
- 1 pinch1 pinch1 pinch Salt, to taste
- 1 pinch1 pinch1 pinch Black Pepper, to taste
- 0.25 cup0.25 cup0.25 cup Raw Cashews, optional
- 0.25 cup0.25 cup0.25 cup Green Onion (Scallion), optional, sliced
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Sesame Seeds, optional

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- In a large skillet or pan, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground turkey or chicken and cook, while stirring, until no longer pink.
- Add the onion, garlic, and ginger and continue to cook until the onion is soft. This should take approximately 4 minutes.
- Turn the heat down to medium and add in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sriracha, and coleslaw. Cook this mixture, while stirring, for another 5-7 minutes or until the cabbage wilts.
- Remove from the heat and season with salt and pepper to taste. Top with chopped nuts, sliced green onions, and sesame seeds if desired.
- Serve as is or on a bed of rice or noodles. Enjoy!
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
