Gluten free Beef Stroganoff
My husband loves any dish that is beef, a carb, and gravy. This recipe has been upgraded to be both gluten free and paleo. This is comfort food at its best.
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 222 Sirloin Steak, cut into 1” cube
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Salt
- .5 tsp.5 tsp.5 tsp Black Pepper
- .5.5.5 Onion, diced
- 3 cloves3 cloves3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 666 Baby Bella Mushrooms, wiped and sliced
- 1 cup1 cup1 cup Beef Bone Broth, divided, see instructions
- 3 Tbsp3 Tbsp3 Tbsp Coconut Aminos
- 2 tsp2 tsp2 tsp Arrowroot Flour
- 222 Green Onion (Scallion), diced
- 6 oz6 oz6 oz Gluten-Free Malfada Pasta - Jovial Foods, Any flat shape is best
Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Once the beef is cut up use 1-2 paper towels to dab the meat and soak up any extra moisture.
- Salt and pepper the beef.
- In a large skillet on medium heat add 1 tbsp oil and about 1/3 of the beef cubes. Let cook for 2-3 minutes until browned, turn and let cook 2 minutes. Remove to a dish.
- Continue to cook beef in batches until done. Add more oil as needed, just enough so it doesn’t stick.
- With the beef in a dish to the side. Add the onions, mushrooms, garlic to the pan and let cook for 3 minutes, stir periodically.
- Add the beef and juices from the plate back to the pan. Stir.
- Add 3/4 cup of beef bone broth and coconut aminos. Turn heat to low and let cook for 30 minutes.
- Cook the pasta in large pot with enough water per instructions.
- In a small dish add 1/4 cup beef bone broth and arrowroot flour. Stir until dissolved.
- Pour the arrowroot mixture into the pan and stir. Turn heat to medium and Let this cook and heat up for a few minutes, the sauce with thicken.
- Serve by putting pasta in bowl, topping with meat and sauce then sprinkle scallions on top.
Notes
You can add more mushrooms is you love them. Or leave them out if you don’t. If you like you can add bell peppers or peas as well.
