Gluten Free Tuna Melt
Tuna melts are nostalgic and take me right back to childhood play dates. There's something so magical about toasted bread and creamy tuna salad, topped with a slice of melted cheese. This simple recipe works great with any bread, but it's easily made gluten free with your favorite gluten free bread of choice.
Ingredients
- 5 oz5 oz5 oz Canned Tuna, (1 can)
- 2 sprigs2 sprigs2 sprigs Green Onion (Scallion), diced (2 stalks)
- 1 pieces1 pieces1 pieces Gluten-free Bread, or gluten free bagel of choice
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Mayonnaise
- 2 pieces2 pieces2 pieces Muenster Cheese, thinly sliced
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Hot Sauce, optional
Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Toast the bagel or bread to your desired toastiness. Remove from the toaster.
- Open and drain a can of your favorite tuna. Mix together with chopped scallions and mayo, adding more mayo if you prefer a creamier tuna salad. Want it a little spicy? Add a few shakes of hot sauce into the mix.
- Scoop the tuna mixture onto the toast, then add a couple of slices of muenster cheese on top.
- Place back into the toaster on some tin foil (to catch anything that may fall), or place into a preheated 375° oven until the cheese melts.
- Enjoy warm!
