Hot Cocoa Bombs
An explosion of holiday yum, these homemade hot cocoa bombs are a fun and festive treat. Surprisingly easy to make, you can fill each hot cocoa bomb with whatever mix and add-ins you desire. Get creative and have a hot cocoa bomb-making party this holiday season.
Ingredients
- 250 grams250 grams250 grams Baking Chocolate Chips, can sub plant-based
- 1.5 cups1.5 cups1.5 cups Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa Mix (Dark Chocolate)
- 1.5 cups1.5 cups1.5 cups Mini Marshmallows, can sub plant-based
- 6 Tbsp6 Tbsp6 Tbsp Sprinkles, optional

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Melt ⅔ of the chocolate in the top of a double broiler over medium-high heat until it reaches 105ºF.
- Remove the bowl from the double broiler and stir in the remaining ⅓ of the chocolate.
- Continue to stir until the chocolate cools to 85ºF.
- Pour the melted chocolate into the sphere cavities.
- With a food-safe paintbrush or small spoon coat the entire sphere mold with chocolate. Make sure you get the sides well.
- Chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
- Gently remove the chocolate spheres from the mold.
- Place a sphere in a cupcake liner or tin and fill it with a scoop of hot cocoa mix, marshmallows, and sprinkles.
- With a warm pan or plate, melt the other chocolate sphere rim every so slightly.
- Place the two chocolate spheres together and press gently to set.
- Top with a drizzle of extra melted chocolate and festive sprinkles if desired.
- To serve, place the hot cocoa bomb in a large mug and pour very hot milk on it. Stir to melt the hot cocoa bomb and watch it “explode.” Enjoy!
Notes
Depending on the size of the sphere mold used, it will make 4-8 hot cocoa bombs.
