low heat, a little bacon grease, a splash of water, & a lid — the dream team for the perfect fried egg 🍳💛 this low & slow method gently steams the top while keeping the whites tender & yolk just set.  delicious on toast, bowls, sandwiches, or straight off the skillet.

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. heat a small skillet to low-medium heat for 3-4 minutes.
  2. grease pan with a little fat of choice - i ALWAYS use leftover bacon grease.
  3. turn heat to low.
  4. *optional: use a egg cooking ring to keep your egg in more of a circle.
  5. crack egg to center of pan - holding the yolk in place to keep it in the center.
  6. let it cook for 1-2 minutes to let the white set (at this time, I remove my cooking ring).
  7. pour in a couple tablespoons of water, then add a lid & let cook until a very thin film forms over top for the PERFECT over-easy fried egg.
  8. if you like your yolk cooked more, just cook it a couple minutes longer!
