Pork & Beans
Ingredients
- 12 oz12 oz12 oz Smoked Pork Sausage - Lottie's Meats, 1 pack
- 16 oz16 oz16 oz Baked Beans
- 1/2 whole1/2 whole1/2 whole Onion, small, diced
- 1 whole1 whole1 whole Green Bell Pepper, small, diced
- 1 whole1 whole1 whole Jalapeño Pepper, small, minced
- 2 cloves2 cloves2 cloves Garlic, microplaned
- 1/2 cup1/2 cup1/2 cup Ketchup
- 1/2 cup1/2 cup1/2 cup Barbecue Sauce, we use Kinders brands
- 1/4 cup1/4 cup1/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Yellow Mustard
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Sriracha
- Apple Cider Vinegar, a splash
Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees and heat a dutch oven over medium heat.
- Cut The Lottie into slices and sear them in the dutch oven. Remove the Lottie slices and set aside.
- Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pot and add onions. Saute until soft (about 5-6 mins).
- Add in the diced bell pepper, jalapeno and garlic. Cook until soft and aromatic (5-8 mins).
- Add in the beans and stir so that the veggies are fully incorporated.
- Stir in the ketchup, Bbq sauce, mustard, sriracha, a splash of apple cider vinegar and ¼ cup brown sugar.
Tip: Taste & add more brown sugar if like it sweeter (we do)! - Season with salt and add the Lottie slices back in.
- Bake for 30 mins for best results! 🙂
