Short Cut Brisket
I love brisket but sometimes I don’t have 8+ hours to BBQ it. This super easy recipe utilizes the Instant Pot to cut the time in a quarter. The end result is a well cooked brisket that can be used to eat with any sides you like, in tacos, on a salad, or however.
Ingredients
- 2 lb2 lb2 lb Beef Brisket, See notes
- 2 tsp2 tsp2 tsp Steak Seasoning - Primal Palate
- 1 cup1 cup1 cup Beef Bone Broth

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Cut the brisket into steaks about 2”wide.
- Rub the seasoning on all sides of the brisket. Set aside.
- Get the Instant Pot and add the beef broth to the pot.
- Place the steaks inside and cook on low, slow cook for 2 hours.
- When done change the setting to high pressure and cook for 10 minutes. Let steam release naturally.
- When done remove and cut the steaks against the grain.
Notes
Some butcher shops sell brisket steaks. But if not you can get a large brisket and cut it into. 2-4 pieces depending on how large it is. This recipe is easily doubled if you want more brisket. If you have a few minutes you can first add some oil to the pot and saute the steaks for a few minutes on each side. Then slow cook. This does help make the end result a bit more tender.
