Process

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Add the berries, sugar, and maple syrup to a small pot. Toss to coat the berries and add the water. Bring to a low simmer and stir. The berries will start to soften within a few minutes. Carefully mash with a potato masher (or fork) until the mixture is mostly liquid. Simmer on low for another 5 minutes.
  2. Strain through a fine mesh strainer (saving the pulp to add to yogurt or smoothies). Stir in the vanilla and lemon juice. Set aside most of the syrup in the fridge to cool. Store for up to 5 days or so.
  3. To make a latte, add about 1-2 tbsp of syrup to a cup and add ice. Sift the matcha and whisk with 4 tbsp of hot water until a paste forms. Add the milk over the ice, and then the matcha! Serve with a straw!

Notes

The recipe makes enough syrup for several lattes, depending on how much syrup you like in the matcha!
