Vietnamese Steak Salad
It is getting warm in Hawai’i so I start to think salads. We love big salads as a meal, and this one is super tasty. Lots of healthy veg with a bit of high quality beef. You can’t go wrong.
Ingredients
- 1 lb1 lb1 lb Flank Steak
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Coconut Aminos
- .5 head.5 head.5 head Cabbage, Napa (Wong Bak), thin sliced
- 1 head1 head1 head Lettuce, Romaine, thin sliced
- 111 Carrots, thin sliced
- 111 Daikon, thin sliced
- 222 Green Onion (Scallion), thin sliced
- .33.33.33 Cucumber, thin sliced
- .25 cup.25 cup.25 cup Cashews, Roasted and Salted, chopped
- .25 cup.25 cup.25 cup Rice Wine Vinegar
- 3 Tbsp3 Tbsp3 Tbsp Honey
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Ginger Root, grated
- 1 clove1 clove1 clove Garlic, minced
- .33 cup.33 cup.33 cup Avocado Oil
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Coconut Aminos
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Water

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- In a large skillet sear the steak in olive oil on medium heat. Turn every 2-3 minutes until it is golden brown and 150-160 degrees. Temperature depends on your preferred doneness. Turn heat off.
- Pour coconut aminos on steak and turn over, let it rest in pan for 5 minutes.
- Add dressing ingredients to a Mason jar, put lid on and shake well. Set aside.
- Prepare vegetables and add to a large bowl.
- Top with cashews.
- Thinly slice meat against the grain. Add to salad.
- Top with dressing and mix in.
Notes
You can add other vegetables as desired. Bell pepper and zucchini work well also.

Is there something I could replace Daikon with? I live in the boonies and can’t find them lol

I understand living out in the country. You can use regular radishes as those are usually available most places. Hope you enjoy
