Viral Shaved Fruit
If you follow me on instagram, you know I rarely fall for the viral trends. I don't know why! I just don't tend to ever make them. But I've seen this floating around for the past couple weeks and with the heat and humidity in NJ lately, I could really use a sweet & refreshing snack. I paired this shaved fruit with greek yogurt so it had more substance, and it makes it high protein. I also added a honey drizzle for a tad more sweetness! Ingredients
- 0.5 cup0.5 cup0.5 cup Peaches, frozen and shaved
- 0.5 cup0.5 cup0.5 cup Watermelon, frozen and shaved
- 1 cup1 cup1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Honey
Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- 1. Freeze a peach for as little as 1 hour, or overnight. Cut watermelon into triangles or larger pieces, freeze as little as one hour, or as long as overnight.
- 2. Once your fruit is frozen, add 1c greek yogurt to a bowl.
- 3. With a grater, grate or shred your peaches and watermelon over your greek yogurt. If its easier, do it on a plate or cutting board, then add to your greek yogurt.
- 4. Drizzle with honey.
- 5. Mix it up and enjoy!
Notes
I have only ever tried this with peaches and watermelon. I recommend freezing a bunch of fruit so you always have it available when you want it! Just make sure the pieces are large enough to hold onto, so you don't cut your finger on your grater.
