Process

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Line a 17"x12"x1" rimmed sheet pan with parchment paper, cut to fit pan. Place a kitchen towel underneath pan.
  2. Add pretzel nuggets to prepared pan. Use a kitchen mallet to smash pretzel nuggets directly in pan. You'll want varying sizes of pretzel pieces and almond butter pieces.
  3. Place chocolate chips in microwave-safe bowl. Heat in microwave for 30 seconds; stir. Continue heating in microwave in 15-20 second intervals, stirring in between, until chocolate is just melted and smooth.
  4. Spread melted chocolate over pretzel and almond butter pieces, while also combining them with the melted chocolate. Mixture should be about 1/2-inch thick once combined.
  5. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes before breaking into desired-size pieces by hand.
  6. Store bark in an airtight container in refrigerator for 7+ days.

Notes

If a peanut allergy is not a concern, peanut butter-filled pretzel nuggets can be used in place of almond butter-filled pretzel nuggets. As long as bark is stored in an airtight container in the fridge, I have discovered that it can keep for much longer than 7 days. I have kept some in the fridge for 3 weeks. This makes it a terrific, make-ahead holiday gift.
