The result: juicy, tender chicken that’s ready in no time! Just keep in mind that air fryers can vary, so you may need to tweak the cooking time and temp to suit your specific machine. - In a bowl, mix the chicken thighs with oil and seasonings, tossing to coat evenly.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (or a comparable temperature as settings can vary). Once preheated, arrange the seasoned chicken thighs in a single layer in the basket—this may require cooking in batches.
- Cook for about 10 minutes, then flip the thighs and continue cooking for another 6-8 minutes, until fully cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F). Every air fryer is different, so cook times might vary a bit. You can try cooking the thighs a couple of extra minutes for more crispiness but be sure to keep an eye on it to avoid overcooking and drying the meat out.
- Optional: For a little extra juiciness, spoon some of the juices from the bottom of the air fryer over the thighs once they’re cooked. It’s an easy way to lock in more flavor and keep the meat moist!
- Remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!

Will this work in an air fryer without the basket. The toaster oven type.
I’d think so! I use the Ninja Max XL, which has a basket, so I haven’t tested it in an air fryer without one. There might just be some slight adjustments needed for cook time, as every air fryer varies!
