Cardamom Ginger Chai (Dairy Free) (Edit recipe)

Chai is not just a beverage, it's a vibe. It makes me slow down and smell the roses , or should I say the spices. A hot piping cup of chai is perfect for the cooler temperatures that are coming our way. I love my morning chai with cardamom and ginger. These spices infuse a beautiful flavor and a heady aroma to the tea, engulfing your senses as you take each sip. And cherry on top, these spices also have anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant benefits. Also, in case you were wondering no fancy teapots for me and definitely no chai tea latte for me . I like my home made chai straight from the stove to my cup.

Process

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Heat the water in a pan
  2. Crush the cardamom pods and add it to the water. Crushing your cardamom releases a ton of flavor as the seeds are the ones which pack the flavor punch.
  3. Grate fresh ginger root and let both the spices simmer in the boiling water for a few minutes to infuse the flavor.
  4. Add tea leaves and let the tea come to a rolling boil.
  5. Now add dairy free milk substitute (see note below) or milk if you can tolerate dairy
  6. Add a sweetener if you like (I don't add any sweeteners to my tea but you can add one if you prefer)
  7. Simmer on low for a few minutes and serve!

Notes

➡️ Substitutions - To make this #dairyfree, you can use oat milk - To make it #whole30, you can use compatible almond milk or @nutpods
