Fried Dates with Chocolate Date Sauce
Move over fried oreos! These fried dates are a much healthier alternative and so delicious!!
Ingredients
- 12 whole12 whole12 whole Medjool Dates, Pitted
- 0.333 cup0.333 cup0.333 cup Dairy-Free Vanilla Frosting, Optional: with dye-free sprinkles
- 0.75 cup0.75 cup0.75 cup All Purpose Flour
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Maple Sugar, Or any sugar
- 0.5 tsp0.5 tsp0.5 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 pinch1 pinch1 pinch Salt
- 1 whole1 whole1 whole Egg
- 0.5 cup0.5 cup0.5 cup Milk
- 2 cups2 cups2 cups Avocado Oil, For frying, use as needed
- 6 whole6 whole6 whole Medjool Dates, Pitted
- 0.75 cup0.75 cup0.75 cup Water
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Cocoa Powder, Or cacao powder

Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Take pitted dates and stuff with frosting, set aside.
- For chocolate date dip, add all ingredients to a small blender, blend and set aside.
- For breading, add flour, maple sugar, baking powder, and salt to a bowl and combine.
- In a separate small bowl, add egg and milk and combine, then add this to dry ingredients mixing until well combined.
- In a pot, heat avocado oil and have your dates and batter on the side ready to go.
- Coat each date in the batter and fry for a couple of minutes. Plate fried dates and top with powdered sugar. Warm up chocolate date dipping sauce and serve with fried dates.
Notes
You can use any sugar for the batter and non-dairy milk should work too!
