Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- For all or ANY flavors you want use the same ratio of
- 1 cup fruit
- 1/4 cup veggies
- 1/4 cup juice (apple juice can be used in any as it doesn't have much taste, but the juices I above I found go best with the flavors)
- 3 tbsp gelatin
- -process your fruit, veg, juice, and optional honey until smooth
- -place over stove on medium heat, add gelatin and whisk until it dissolves. Should only take a couple min
- -use dispensers that come with your molds to pour mix into molds
- -refrigerate an hour, then remove from molds and enjoy!
- -store in fridge
Notes
Each flavor makes maybe 4 tray fulls. I recommend doing 1 flavor at a time to see how much you want to have on hand at once. Do not use pineapple or kiwi, as they won't gelatinize because of a compound they have called bromemine. can store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week

Hi there! I just made this (it is still in the fridge). I have several questions. I want to preface by saying that the recipe made enough to fill all of my 6 molds with just one fruit. so I only did a berry mix with beets. I used frozen a red berry mix and cherries and beets. I looked at several recipes before deciding to use this one as they looked more appetizing, but the others mentioned to steam or soften the veggies and this one did not.
So, first question, are we supposed to steam or soften the veggies? (I hope not, because I didn’t)
Second question, I used a powerful food processor, for a LONG time and it still didn’t come out smooth, I had to strain out A LOT of pulp, but your recipe doesn’t say anything about straining, did I mess up somewhere? And if not, do you have any suggestions of what to do with the excess pulp to not be wasteful?
Third, I have never worked with beets before, no matter how much I scrubbed, the smell of hot dirt did not come off of the beets and made the entire mixture smell like dirt. it tasted pretty good but smelled awful. Is this normal or did I mess up somewhere?
If not, is there another red veggie that would work for this recipe?
Also, side note. Thanks for the recipe, I am really trying to get my son to eat a more balanced diet, but he LOVES fruit snacks. I really hope he loves them.
Hi, it depends on the ripeness of your veggies whether to steam them. I did not, but my beets were also on the softer side. It sounded like yours could’ve benefited from steaming since they were hard! The straining is optional as well. My kids didn’t mind the berry seeds. You could just be supersensitive to beets? They can have a stronger taste but I’ve never heard about the overpowering dirt small! I’d soak them in a baking soda and water mixture for 15 to help remove any dirt
