Homemade Dippin Dots! (Edit recipe)

Ok nitrogen aside- these frozen ice cream bites were soo fun to make and enjoy with the kiddos! Dye free and naturally sweetened, too. They had just had "dippin dots" for the rest time at a baseball game, and were still completely in love with our homemade version!

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Each flavor is made by combining plain Greek yogurt and fruit sorbet
  2. I made homemade sorbet by simply taking 2-3oz frozen fruit & blend/process with a squeeze of lemon juice & a drizzle of honey or maple syrup. Freeze until ready to use
  3. For each color:
  4. -Mash your sorbet until soft (not liquid) and add Greek yogurt. I didn't do measurements, but about a 1:1 ratio or a bit more yogurt than sorbet
  5. -Combine well and pour into a soda type bottle. Have holes poked in the lid to pour dots (alternatively could use a plastic sandwich bag with a tiny hole cut in the corner)
  6. -line a baking sheet with wax paper. Pour dots across sheet, then move onto next color and repeat steps above
  7. -for the blue color I added a tiny pinch of blue spirulina to the pineapple sorbet, giving me 4 colors total
  8. -freeze for at least an hour
  9. -use a sharp spatula to remove dots from wax paper, pour into a bowl, and serve immediately (or place back in the freezer until ready to enjoy)
  10. -Enjoy!! These do melt quickly just like regular dippin dots!
