Irish Soda Bread (Edit recipe)

Irish Soda Bread is a tradition in my house on St. Patrick's Day!  Only a few ingredients make this delicious quick bread.  No need to be intimidated by this simple to follow recipe.  It is a quick bread that does not require any yeast.  It has a crusty outer shell and a soft inside that makes it delicious.  The buttermilk gives it flavor along with the raisins which are my favorite part!

Create a hole in the middle to pour your buttermilk milk mixture in and fold together. Be sure to not over mix. Flour your surface and mold bread till round. Score an X into the top of the bread. Add to baking sheet on parchment paper or cast iron if you have one! Bake at 425 degrees for 30 minutes until browned and fully cooked. Let cool and enjoy!

Notes

No yeast here!  Baking soda is leavening agent. Can add cranberries instead of raisins or skip all together Be sure not to over mix.  Only enough for ingredients to be blended.
