Passion Fruit Matcha Latte
A tropical twist on the classic "matcha latte" -- and one I bet you'll find yourself craving often, once you try it. I use frozen passion fruit that I get at my local Sprouts and also add white chia seeds for added protein. The passion fruit adds some great tangy sweetness and depending on the creamer you use up on top, this can be made without any added sugars. Keeping it a pretty easy beverage to add to your "favorite bevy"rotation. Matcha is a superfood powerhouse, full of some of Mother Nature's best antioxidants! My favorite brand is Jade Leaf Matcha and has been for years!
Ingredients
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Matcha Green Tea Powder, I use Jade Leaf Ceremonial grade
- .66 cup.66 cup.66 cup Water
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp White Chia Seeds - Suncore Foods, you can sub standard chia seeds
- 1 cup1 cup1 cup Passion Fruit, Frozen, I use Pitaya Foods brand & get it at Sprouts
- 1 - 1.5 cups1 - 1.5 cups1 - 1.5 cups Ice Cubes, personal preference
- .5 cup.5 cup.5 cup French Vanilla Creamer, Lactose-Free - Organic Valley, can sub Nutpods vanilla for dairy free
Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Sift matcha into a bowl, add water and whisk to combine, then stir in the chia seeds and set aside.
- Place passion fruit in separate thin jar and puree with an immersion blender.
- Add ice to the top of the pureed passion fruit, then pour in the matcha/chia seeds liquid.
- Froth your creamer in a separate container then pour on top, swirl with a straw then sip and enjoy!
Notes
Depending on how large your glass is, the amount of ice you use will vary. I use a 20oz mason jar so I use a full cup or so of pebble ice!
