Process

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Place the chicken breasts inside the Instant Pot. Season with salt and pepper (and any other seasonings you prefer. I like adding turmeric too).
  2. If you're adding bone broth, add it now.
  3. Close the lid on the Instant Pot and make sure the steamer valve is closed.
  4. Press the "Poultry" setting. This will set the timer to 15 minutes. If you are planning to do a quick release, add 5 more minutes to the cook time.
  5. Let the Instant Pot cook - once it is pressurized, it will beep and begin the timer countdown.
  6. When it's done cooking, let the Instant Pot slow release on its own for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Press "Keep Warm/Cancel" and open the lid on the Instant Pot (be careful, it's hot and steamy).
  8. Option to drain the liquid before shredding, or leave it for added nutrients, especially if you added bone broth.
  9. Using a hand mixer, shred the chicken.
  10. Remove from the pot and store for up to a week in a tight lid container.
