Process

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook your noodles according to the package directions. Drain, rinse under cold water to stop the cooking, and set aside.
  2. Meanwhile, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  3. Once the beef is fully cooked, carefully blot away any excess grease with a paper towel.
  4. Add the freshly grated garlic and ginger. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly so the garlic doesn't burn.
  5. Stir in the carrots and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until they begin to soften.
  6. In a small bowl or mason jar, whisk together the beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
  7. Pour the sauce into the skillet and bring it to a gentle simmer.
  8. Add the frozen broccoli and cook for 3 to 5 minutes, or until heated through and tender-crisp.
  9. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Stir it into the simmering sauce and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
  10. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet. Toss everything together until the noodles are evenly coated in the sauce and mixed with the beef and vegetables.
  11. Remove the skillet from the heat. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving. Provecho!

Notes

Suggested substitutions: swap the ground beef for ground turkey, chicken, pork, or even plant-based crumbles. You can also use ramen, spaghetti, udon, rice noodles, or whatever noodles you have in the pantry.
