Avocado in brownies?! Yes you heard that right. This inconspicuous addition to a classic dessert results in some very delicious brownies. We couldn't get enough of this recipe, and know you will, too!

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Preheat your oven to bake at 350 degrees.
  2. Grease an 8x8 baking pan with avocado oil
  3. Using a double boiler, melt 1/2 cup of chocolate chips. Remove from the heat, and allow to cool slightly.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, cassava flour, maple sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  5. In a small mixing bowl, blend together the eggs, avocado, avocado oil with a hand mixer.
  6. Add the wet ingredients into the dry, and blend until smooth.
  7. Add in the melted chocolate, and blend again until smooth.
  8. Pour the brownie batter into your prepared baking dish, and smooth into an even layer.
  9. Sprinkle the 1/4 of chocolate chips over the top of the brownies, and bake for 20-25 minutes at 350.
  10. Once the brownies come out of the oven, allow to cool for about 5 minutes, and then sprinkle with the flake salt.

Notes

To measure the cassava flour, we recommend using a spoon to gently scoop the cassava flour into your measuring cup, to avoid packing the cup with flour.
