Homemade Applesauce
Applesauce is SO easy to make at home - and it freezes well too!
I like to leave the peel on our apples! This speeds up the process and allows us to retain all of the beneficial compounds that promote growth of healthy gut bacteria. If you keep the skin on, try to choose organic apples.

- Chop apples into small cubes and add to pot.
- Add water and cinnamon to the pot, cover and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes.
- Blend right in pot using an immersion blender until you reach desired consistency or simply transfer to a blender. I have done both and they both work great, blender is faster!
Notes
Freeze applesauce for up to 6 months (it defrosts easily at room temp) or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
