Honey Citrus Cupcakes (gluten free)
Did you know you can use your favorite tea to enhance the flavor of your cupcakes? Lavender, hibiscus, lemon, or in this case Honey Citrus
between the tea, honey vanilla buttercream, and orange zest, these are like sunshine in a cupcake! ☀️Ingredients
- 1.25 cup1.25 cup1.25 cup Gluten Free Flour
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Baking Powder
- .25 tsp.25 tsp.25 tsp Sea Salt
- .5 cup.5 cup.5 cup Raw Sugar, organic cane sugar
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp Honey
- .25 cup.25 cup.25 cup Coconut Oil
- 2 whole2 whole2 whole Green Tea, Bags of Honey Citrus Green Tea**
- 1 cup1 cup1 cup Water, boiling (to steep tea)
- 1 whole1 whole1 whole Egg, room temp
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Orange Zest
- .5 cup.5 cup.5 cup Unsalted Butter
- .5 cup.5 cup.5 cup Honey
- .25 cup.25 cup.25 cup Arrowroot Flour
- 2 tsp2 tsp2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Brew your 2 tea bags 5-10 min in 1 cup of water
- Whisk dry ingredients
- Combine sugar, honey, coconut oil, egg, vanilla, and zest. Then fold into dry
- Pour 1/3 cup of finished tea and combined again
- Bake 350 for 15 min
- Move to cooling rack
- Make icing by whipping ingredients together, placing in piping bag, and icing your cupcakes
- Top with more orange zest and dried oranges
Notes
I used 2 honey citrus tea bags steeped in 1 cup water, HOWEVER I only use 1/3 cup on the brewed tea for the recipe
