Quick Chili Dogs For Dinner
Can't beat a good chili dog moment. While I prefer to make my chili from scratch, busy weeknights have me reaching for a can of my fave store-bought. Blistered plant-based dogs, habanero cheddar, chili, crispy onions & green uns to finish. Quick, easy & delish.
Ingredients
- 4 whole4 whole4 whole Hot Dog Buns

- 4 whole4 whole4 whole Plant-Based Jumbo Dogs
- 1 whole1 whole1 whole Extra Virgin Olive Oil, For Frying
- 1 whole1 whole1 whole Cheddar Cheese, I used a shredded habanero

- 425 ml425 ml425 ml 4 Bean Chili
- 1 whole1 whole1 whole Crispy Fried Onions, Garnish
- 2 whole2 whole2 whole Green Onion (Scallion), sliced for garnish

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Empty your chili into a small covered pot set to medium low. Stir as needed until warmed thoroughly and then reduce to low for service.
- In a large non-stick, fill 2/3 of the way with water and bring to a boil. Once boiled, add your dogs and let them boil for 4 - 5 minutes. Carefully remove your skillet from the heat and strain the water, leaving your dogs in the skillet. Wipe out any remaining water, reduce your heat to just below medium and return your skillet to the heat. Add a splash of EVOO and fry the dogs on each side until they get some good colour and blister up.
- To serve, start by opening your buns and adding some shredded cheddar to the bottom of your buns. Nestle in the hot dogs and top each one with additional shredded cheddar. Divide your chili between the 4 dogs and top each one with as much crispy onions as you'd like & some green onions to finish.
- Serve & ENJOY! Quick and super delish!
