Backyard Blaze Dogs
Jalapeño Popper Bacon-Wrapped Hot Dogs Glazed with a Blood Orange Habanero Jam. Smoky, spicy, and unapologetically indulgent, these Backyard Blaze Dogs take the classic cookout staple to fiery new heights. Juicy hot dogs are wrapped in crispy bacon and grilled or pan-seared to perfection. Nestled in a toasted bun that's been broiled with a creamy jalapeño-cheddar spread, each bite delivers bold layers of flavor. A final brush of blood orange habanero jam brings the heat and a kiss of sweet citrusy fire. This isn’t your average backyard dog—this one came to party.

- 8 whole8 whole8 whole Hot Dog Buns
- 8 oz8 oz8 oz Cream Cheese, Full Fat, softened

- 0.33 cup0.33 cup0.33 cup Blood Orange Habanero Jam - Profanity Jam, melted
Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Make the Creamy Spread: In a medium bowl, stir together the cream cheese, chopped jalapeño, and shredded cheddar cheese. Set aside.
- Wrap the Dogs: Wrap each hot dog with one slice of bacon, securing the ends with toothpicks. Lightly spray with cooking spray to help the bacon crisp.
- Grill or Roast: Place the bacon-wrapped hot dogs on a hot grill or in a pan under the oven broiler (can do on stove top as well). Cook for about 12 minutes, turning a quarter turn every 3 minutes, until the bacon is golden and crisp.
- Toast the Buns: About 3 minutes before the hot dogs are done, prepare the buns. Place them cut side up. Spread or pipe the cheese mixture onto one side of each bun. Brush the other side with a little melted butter or reserved bacon grease. Broil for 1–2 minutes, just until the cheese starts to melt and the opposite side of the bun is golden and toasty.
- Assemble & Glaze: Remove the toothpicks from the hot dogs. Place each one on the cheesy side of the toasted bun. Brush generously with melted habanero jelly for that sweet heat finish.
- Serve Hot: Garnish with extra jalapeño slices if desired, and serve immediately. These dogs have gone wild—so dig in before they cool down!
Notes
You're going to want to make extra, because these reheat really well! Wrap the leftover dogs (bun and all) with foil. Store in the refrigerator and reheat in the oven or a toaster oven.
