Small batch Apple pie compote
Happy Fall! All the apple lovers stand up. This compote pairs well with breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. It's sticky, sweet and aromatic.
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups1.5 cups1.5 cups Apple, Gala, Chopped
- 0.25 cup0.25 cup0.25 cup Light Brown Sugar
- 1 Tbsp1 Tbsp1 Tbsp Apple Pie Spice - Primal Palate

- 0.25 tsp0.25 tsp0.25 tsp Nutmeg, Ground

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Dice up Red Gala Apples, this can be as big or as small as you'd like
- Add into a medium pot diced apples, brown sugar, apple pie spice and nutmeg
- Simmer this compote on medium heat for 20-25 minutes
- Once the mixture turns gelatinous you can remove from heat
- If you want a looser consistency you can add a tablespoon or 2 of water and simmer for a shorter time period
Notes
Allow the mixture to cool before refrigerating. You can reheat it or eat the compote cold. This will be sticky like a caramel consistency.
