Spring Crisps
Fun fact: some of my favorite memories with Liv + Sawyer have been the ones we’ve made bonding together in the kitchen. 🫶🏼
Using sourdough rye thins as our blank canvas, this snack activity is not only a nutritious treat, but also a great way to give your kids confidence in the kitchen by sparking creativity. ✨. They’re crispy, super snackable, and are made with clean ingredients rich with fiber and plant based whole grains.

Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Take your sourdough rye thins and spread yogurt evenly across the top.
- Butterflies
- Line up 3 blueberries vertically near the top of the rye thin. Place 2 mandarin segments on either side of them and add green sprinkles for antennae. Using a toothpick, create chocolate spots on both wings. Repeat for a second butterfly on the bottom of the rye thin.
- Ladybugs
- Place your blueberry near the top of the rye thin. Line up the strawberry to go right beneath it for a body. With a toothpick or piping pen, create a line down the middle of the strawberry and dots around it. Draw legs and antennae. Repeat for a second ladybug on the bottom of the rye thin.
- Bees
- Take an apple slice and spread peanut butter on it. Place on the bottom half of the rye crisp. Decorate with blueberries to resemble the stripes of a bee. Take a banana coin and spread peanut butter on top. Place this above the apple slice. Place your halved banana coins on top of the right and left of the apple slice to resemble wings. Draw antennae on top of the banana coin with chocolate (using either a toothpick or piping pen) and a little stinger at the bottom. Create a face (eyes and mouth) with melted chocolate as well. Finally, add 2 blueberries on top of each antennae. Enjoy!
