Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. In a bowl, sprinkle some sea salt onto the fish let sit for a couple of minutes. Rinse off the sea salt with water and set aside.
  2. To a preheated claypot or a saucepan on medium heat, add in the avocado oil and/or pork fat. Then, add in the garlic and onions. Sauté for 1-2 until fragrant.
  3. Add in the allulose and cook until dissolved and lightly brown.
  4. Add in the water, vinegar, Tamari, fish sauce, sea salt and black pepper. Sauté lightly to combine the ingredients.
  5. Add in the fish steaks and chilies if using. Increase the heat to high and bring everything to a boil.
  6. Lower the heat to simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, uncovered.
  7. Turn the fish steaks over and simmer for another 5-10 minutes. Add more water if needed and adjust seasonings to taste.
  8. Garnish with the chopped green onion and cook for 1-2 more minutes. If desired, add more freshly ground black pepper.
