Watermelon Basil Seeds Cooler
In India during the summer months, you will often find street vendors selling this Watermelon refresher topped with cooling basil seeds (called Sabja or tukmaria seeds). It is delicious & oh so refreshing! Basil seeds, not to be confused with Chia seeds are seeds of the Sweet basil plant (not the Italian basil plant we all know) and are popular in Indian Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine for their cooling properties. They need to be soaked in water to swell before consuming. If you absolutely can't get your hands on these seeds (try the Indian store!), you can substitute it with Chia seeds.
