Caramelized Onion, Beef, and Bacon Sauté
This one-pan meal gets its flavor from the bacon, caramelized onions, and coconut aminos. It pairs great with roasted or grilled vegetables and is Whole30 and Paleo-compatible.
Ingredients
- 1 lb1 lb1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 whole1 whole1 whole Yellow Onion, thinly sliced
- 10 oz10 oz10 oz Raw Bacon, roughly chopped
- 2 Tbsp2 Tbsp2 Tbsp fresh Thyme
- 0.25 cup0.25 cup0.25 cup Coconut Aminos
- 3 cup3 cup3 cup Baby Spinach
- 2 cloves2 cloves2 cloves Garlic, minced
- .5 tsp.5 tsp.5 tsp Sea Salt

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- In a medium-sized skillet on medium heat, add the chopped bacon and cook until all the fat is rendered and the bacon is cooked. Remove the bacon pieces from the pan and set them aside.
- Add the sliced onions to the pan with the bacon fat. Cook for about 5 minutes, and then add 1/4 tsp sea salt.
- Continue cooking and stirring onions until they are caramelized. Remove the onions from the pan and set them aside.
- Add the garlic to the pan and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the ground beef and break it apart into small pieces.
- Continue cooking until the beef is no longer pink. Drain the excess fat from the pan.
- Add the thyme, coconut aminos, spinach, 1/4 teaspoon sea salt, bacon, and caramelized onions. Stir mixture together and cook for about 5 more minutes, until the spinach is wilted.
- Serve with your favorite roasted vegetables.
