Date-Sweetened Shirley Temples
We made the cutest homemade Shirley Temples with a naturally sweetened syrup made from Medjool Dates. No artificial dyes or refined sugars - just real ingredients and the prettiest nostalgic treat. Perfect for the kids and just as fun for a cozy at-home date nightđ„°
Ingredients
- 0.333 cup0.333 cup0.333 cup Medjool Dates, Pitted
- 1 cup1 cup1 cup Water

- 1 cup1 cup1 cup Pomegranate Juice
- 1 tsp1 tsp1 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1 cup1 cup1 cup Lemon Lime Prebiotic Soda - Olipop, I use Olipop!
Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Add dates + water to a small saucepan and simmer 10â12 minutes until soft.
- Blend with pomegranate juice + lemon juice until smooth.
- Strain through a fine mesh sieve for a smooth syrup and chill.
- To make the Shirley Temples:
- Ice
- 1â2 tablespoons date syrup per glass
- Lemon-lime soda or sparkling water
- Bing or Maraschino cherries + lime or orange slices for garnish
- Fill glasses with ice, add date syrup, and top with soda or sparkling water. Garnish with cherries and citrus and enjoy.
- Optional: add a splash of vodka for a fun date-night version
