We made the cutest homemade Shirley Temples with a naturally sweetened syrup made from Medjool Dates. No artificial dyes or refined sugars - just real ingredients and the prettiest nostalgic treat. Perfect for the kids and just as fun for a cozy at-home date nightđŸ„°

  1. Add dates + water to a small saucepan and simmer 10–12 minutes until soft.
  2. Blend with pomegranate juice + lemon juice until smooth.
  3. Strain through a fine mesh sieve for a smooth syrup and chill.
  4. To make the Shirley Temples:
  5. Ice
  6. 1–2 tablespoons date syrup per glass
  7. Lemon-lime soda or sparkling water
  8. Bing or Maraschino cherries + lime or orange slices for garnish
  9. Fill glasses with ice, add date syrup, and top with soda or sparkling water. Garnish with cherries and citrus and enjoy.
  10. Optional: add a splash of vodka for a fun date-night version
