BBQ Chik’n Burgers
I wanted to get a feel for the True Made Foods Pitmaster BBQ sauce, so I decided on a BBQ Chik'n Burger. YUM! Crispy plant-based filet smothered in BBQ and melty Monterey Jack. Served on grilled brioche with lettuce, toms, onions & chipotle mayo.
Ingredients
- 3 whole3 whole3 whole Hamburger Buns, Brioche Buns + EVOO for grilling
- 3 whole3 whole3 whole Ultimate Plant-Based Chick'n Filets - Gardein
- 6 pieces6 pieces6 pieces Monterey Jack Cheese, with hot peppers. Sandwich slices
- 1 whole1 whole1 whole Pitmaster Original (Kansas City-Style) BBQ Sauce - True Made Foods, See Recipe

- 1 whole1 whole1 whole Frisée Lettuce, Enough for 3 burgers
- 2 whole2 whole2 whole Roma Tomato, sliced
- 0.5 whole0.5 whole0.5 whole Red Onion, thinly sliced
- 1 whole1 whole1 whole Sriracha Mayonnaise, Any spicy mayo. I used Nandos Perinaise
- 1 whole1 whole1 whole Himalayan Pink Salt, See Recipe

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Preheat your oven according to filet instructions. Get your frozen filets onto a parchment lined baking sheet and once preheated, get them into the oven and cook according to package directions until golden and crisp. Remove and spoon a couple tablespoons of the BBQ sauce onto each crispy patty, spooning it around to coat the patties generously. Top each one with two pieces of Monterey Jack cheese and return the tray to the oven until melty.
- Heat a grill pan on about medium and brush the open sides of your buns with EVOO. Get them on the grill and let them go until golden and crisp. Remove and set your buns on to a cutting board.
- To assemble, start with the spicy mayo on the top and bottoms. Lay some fresh lettuce followed by a couple slices of juicy roma tomato & season them with salt & cracked pepper. Next, nestle your cheesy BBQ patty on top followed by some thinly sliced red onion.
- Close them up, serve, and ENJOY!
