Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Whisk the dry rub ingredients together in a small bowl or on a small rimmed baking sheet.
- Pat the wings completely dry. This is the key to that crispy skin. Coat the wings all over with the dry rub, pressing it in so it sticks.
- Place wings in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Air fry at 400°F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- While the wings are cooking, whisk together the BBQ sauce, hot honey, honey mustard, and apple cider vinegar in a small bowl until combined.
- After the wings have cooked for 20 minutes, brush the sauce on one side of the wings and air-fry for 1 minute. Flip, brush the other side, and air fry for another minute.
- Pour any leftover sauce over the wings or serve it on the side for dipping, totally up to how saucy you like them.
Notes
Want extra crispy wings? Place the wings, uncovered, in the fridge for at least an hour; overnight is even better. This dries out the skin even more and takes the crisp factor up a notch. No air fryer? Bake wings on a wire rack set over a baking sheet at 425°F for 45 to 50 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy. Brush on sauce in the last 5 minutes of cooking. Adjust the heat: Want more kick? Add extra hot honey to the sauce. Prefer it milder? pull back on the hot honey and use a touch more BBQ sauce.
