Haole Brownie (Paleo) (Edit recipe)

In Hawaiian ‘haole’ means a person who is non-Hawaiian, especially a white person. Our favorite restaurant for plate lunch serves haole brownies. I thought that was funny they called them haole instead of blondie. So, I decided to make my own paleo version. They are decadently delicious and won't last long! These are moist and light, not quite as rich as regular chocolate brownies. I hope you enjoy.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

  3. In a medium bowl add the flour, baking soda, and salt, stir.
  4. In a small bowl add the ghee, sugar, egg, syrup, almond butter, and vanilla, stir until well combined.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and stir until smooth.
  6. Add the chocolate chips and stir to incorporate.
  7. Pour the batter into the pan.
  8. Bake for 18 minutes. Turn pan around halfway through.
  9. Check with toothpick when it comes out clean it is done.
  10. Allow brownies to cool in the pan at least 20 minutes.
