Juicy Lamb Burgers with Feta Sauce (Edit recipe)

I love switching up my burger protein every now and then, and this lamb burger is one we'll definitely be making again. It doesn't need much when you're using quality ground lamb from US Wellness Meats. Just some Primal Palate Meat & Potatoes seasoning and a few simple ingredients, and you've got one juicy, flavorful burger.

I made these in my trusty cast-iron skillet, but they're just as good on the grill or in a regular pan. Topped with my easy whipped feta sauce, a thick slice of garden fresh tomato, and tucked into a sesame seed bun... let's just say this burger was a winner with my family.

Process

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Add the ground lamb to a large bowl.
  2. Press the garlic into the bowl using a garlic press. Add the grated onion, chopped mint, chopped dill, Meat & Potatoes seasoning, cumin, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  3. Gently mix everything together with your hands until just combined. Don't overmix or the burgers can become tough.
  4. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and form into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each.
  5. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium to medium-high heat until hot. Add 1 tablespoon butter.
  6. Place the patties in the skillet and cook, uncovered, for 4 to 5 minutes on the first side until nicely browned.
  7. Flip the burgers, reduce the heat slightly if needed, and cook for another 4 to 5 minutes, covering the skillet for the last few minutes.
  8. Top with feta sauce.
  9. Optional to add a tomato slice and lettuce.

Notes

  • Recommended internal temperature:  cook ground lamb burgers to an internal temperature of 160°F. An instant-read thermometer is the easiest way to know they're perfectly cooked.
  • Don't overmix: Gently combine the ingredients just until everything is incorporated. Over mixing can make the burgers tough.
  • Make the feta sauce ahead of mixing the lamb meat: Grab the recipe here: (whipped feta)
  • Cooking options: I love making these in a cast iron skillet for an incredible crust, but they're just as delicious cooked on the grill.
  • Make a smaller batch: This recipe can easily be halved to make 3 burgers instead of 6.
