The Best Air Fryer Cheese Fries (Edit recipe)

In Pittsburgh, if you go to Kennywood amusement park, you've likely had the Potato Patch Fries. Drizzled with hot cheese, these fries are a local legend. We set out to make them even better, using our own Meat & Potatoes Seasoning, along with the amazing Original Cheddar Cheese dip by Drippy Dip. With all due respect to Kennywood, these fries are far superior, and definitely better for you, too!

Process

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Wash and scrub the potatoes. Cut the potatoes into 1/2" fries (start by making 1/2" thick slices, then slice again into 1/2" thick fries)
  2. Submerge the fries in an ice bath for about 20 minutes. Agitate to rinse the starch from the fries. Pat try with paper towels
  3. Arrange the fries in a single layer on your air fryer tray (or a cookie sheet). Toss with olive oil.
  4. Air fry at 375 for about 20, rotating and flipping to cook evenly. Season the fries with the Meat & Potatoes Seasoning, and then place them back in the air fryer for 5 more minutes. If baking in a conventional oven, bake at 400 for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. In the last few minutes of cooking the fries, heat the drippy in a small sauce pan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until hot.
  6. Serve the fries drizzled with the Drippy Dip original cheese sauce (or any of their cheese sauces, really).
