If you want your house to smell like Fall and want a healthy-ish snack or treat, these stewed cinnamon apples made in the crockpot are exactly what you need! They only take a couple ingredients and cook to perfection. I like to enjoy them over oatmeal or vanilla bean ice cream, but they are perfectly tasty as-is.

Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
  1. Wash, peel and cut your apples into slices.
  2. Add them to the bottom of your crockpot.
  3. In a small bowl, gently whisk brown sugar, cane sugar, cinnamon and cornstarch.
  4. Add this over the apples.
  5. Pour in vanilla extract.
  6. Give this a good mix and then add your 2 pats of butter.
  7. Cook on high for 2 hours, or low for 4 hours (I did high on 2 and it was perfect).
  8. Once finished, mix well to coat the apples and serve warm over ice cream!
  9. You can also eat these as-is, or have them over oatmeal.
